Most of my two weeks in the Tongass rain forest were spent in the fog, mist or rain, with the August temperatures hovering between 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit. The damp sometimes chilled the soul, but generally it was refreshing, as if nature were rehydrating your spirits in this Hobbit-like setting. |
